SEO and SEM are important components of a successful online marketing campaign. SEO stands for search engine optimisation and includes various measures. Meta tags on a homepage, for example, are SEO measures that ensure a better ranking on search results pages. SEM, by contrast, stands for search engine marketing, i.e. targeted advertising on search engines, for example via keyword advertising. Both SEO and SEM contribute to increasing the visibility of websites on search engines such as Google. In this context, we report on changes to the Google algorithm and give tips for an SEO-optimised homepage.
